Coronavirus (COVID-19) latest insights

ONS have published data showing the majority of parents of children under the age of 16 would agree to having them vaccinated.

  • Among secondary school parents, more than half (54%) would definitely want their child to have a COVID-19 vaccine while 32% were unsure but would probably say yes.

  • Around 40% of primary school parents say they would definitely want their child to have a COVID-19 vaccine if offered, while 46% were unsure but would probably say yes.

  • Just 6% of secondary school parents and 3% of primary school parents would definitely not want their child to have a COVID-19 vaccine.

  • The latest COVID-19 Schools Infection Survey also shows the proportion of pupils testing positive between 14 June and 6 July 2021.
