  • The number of people with COVID-19 in England has increased, with 645,800 people estimated to have had COVID-19 in the most recent week (12 to 18 December 2020); this equates to 1 in 85 people.

  • The positivity rate in Wales has risen sharply (1 in 60 people), while Scotland reported a fall in the most recent week (1 in 140 people); Northern Ireland saw a rise, but the rate there remains lower than other UK nations (1 in 180 people). 

  • Among English regions, London had the highest percentage of people testing positive for COVID-19.
