England’s poorest areas are fast food hotspots

A survey by Public Health England (PHE) has revealed that some of the most deprived areas of the country have five times more fast food outlets than affluent areas. PHE wants local authorities to refuse applications from new takeaways and work with existing small businesses to provide healthier options. Some councils are already developing "healthy zones" by limiting the number of fast food outlets.
