Get involved - Lost Castles

It is hugely exciting to be part of Lost Castles - a massive cultural participation project taking place across Liverpool City Region this summer.

Six huge structures built entirely from cardboard, tape and community spirit will be constructed in public places across each of the six boroughs in the region from Thursday 9 - Sunday 12 August. Some are expected to be up to 20m in height!

In Wirral, we will be building a Viking stave church in Ashton Park, West Kirby - and you can be part of it! We want to get as many people as possible involved in preparing this incredible structure and putting it together, before the fun of toppling it at the end of the event.

How to take part

There will be running a number of free workshops in West Kirby to get everything prepared for the main build during the week beginning Monday 30 July. These are open to individuals and community groups. Everyone aged 9 and over is welcome to get involved, as much or as little as you would like.

We are also looking for people to join us in Ashton Park on Thursday 9 August to help assemble the cardboard stave church and build it up to its full height.
