Liverpool City Region visitor economy worth more than £4.5bn suggests research

Reports by Insider Media Ltd suggest that Liverpool City Region's visitor economy is now worth more than £4.5bn and supports about 53,500 jobs, according to new data.

The study they quote – commissioned by the Visitor Economy Team at the Liverpool City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) – shows that the area remained the fifth most visited destination in the UK for overseas visitors.

The region welcomed more than 64.2 million visitors during the period in review – a 2.7 per cent rise. Those staying in paid accommodation also increased by 3.6 per cent to 2.6 million.
