London's new water fountains have saved 155,000 plastic bottles in 12 months

Press Reports are suggesting that the new water fountains across London have dispensed more than 77,000 litres of water in the last 12 months, saving over 155,000 single use 500ml plastic water bottles.

In Liverpool Street station alone nearly 30,000 litres of water have been dispensed, saving almost 60,000 bottles from going to waste.

Businesses are also getting involved, with chains such as Costa, Leon and Pret taking part in the Refill scheme, as well as The British Museum.

More fountains are also on their way with a further 100 fountains being installed between spring this year and the end of 2020.
