ONS Coronavirus (COVID-19) roundup - 20 April 2020

Today ONS have added a health deprivation map and analysis of people’s living situations to our roundup.

Some of the main points include:

  • Almost one-third (31%) of households in England are people living alone, while 28% are people living with dependent children 
  • More than one-third (34%) of people living alone in England are aged 70 years and over
  • There are five local authorities in England in which more than half of people living alone are over 70 years old, with East Dorset having the highest percentage (58%)
  • Out of all NHS Clinical Commissioning Groups in England, Blackpool has the highest levels of health deprivation
