The national estimated dementia diagnosis rate for those aged 65 and over has remained stable over the last 12 months

NHS Digital are reporting that In March 2019 the patient list size for patients aged 65 years and over with dementia was 10,394,267. The differences in diagnosis rate between regions remain consistent, the North of England had the highest rates throughout the year and the South West had the lowest. The rate of prescribing anti-psychotic medications varies between regions, with the Midlands and East of England having the highest rates and London having the lowest.
