Transforming Outcomes a review of the needs and assets of the trans community (May 2017)
The Transforming Outcomes report has been produced by LGBT Foundation and provides real insight on both the health needs of trans people and their experience of care. The report clearly shows that there is a profound need for us to take stock of the extent to which that experience of care deters trans people from seeking help and results in more severe health need over time. Inequality among lesbian, gay bisexual and transgender groups in the UK: a review of evidence (July 2016).
This evidence review was commissioned by the Government Equalities Office (GEO) to identify the nature of inequality and relative disadvantage experienced by lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGB&T) people in the UK.
The review finds the evidence base deficient and has major gaps and this stems from a shortage of robust, representative data, as well as a failure of research to disaggregate disadvantage into single LGB&T groups.
The report does highlight that LGB&T people continue to face discrimination, harassment, disadvantage and inequality in the UK in a number of different policy areas
Previous Needs Assessment
Wirral Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Needs Assessment (April 2012)
The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) identified a requirement for more robust data and intelligence on the health and social care needs of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community in Wirral. Consequently, a comprehensive health and wellbeing needs assessment (HNA) was conducted.
Findings from the report provide the basis of an action plan to support organisations and services in Wirral review their current models of delivery and enable them to make informed decisions to ensure equitable access for the LGBT population.
